The Great War
War has made us numb.
No more emotion,
no more happiness or laughter
Just an emptyness.
No more future,
no more fear or pain.
Except for the dreams.
Oh, the dreams!
Horror beyond horror of all that we’ve seen
with our wild naked eyes.
There’s no escape of it.
Always there, always lurking
in the backs of our now demented
and disturbed minds.
